The Institute of Museum and Library Services

This is a challenging time for Virginia’s libraries. The federal Institute of Museum and Library Services provides funds to the state Library of Virginia through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). Virginia received just over $4.3 million to support critical services that particularly benefit rural libraries like ours. Threats to “zero out” IMLS likely will mean the end of important services.
