Job Descriptions

Master Mail List Committee

Develops and maintains the mailing list for donators, contributors, and supporters. This mailing list will be ongoing and updated yearly using computer software (Access and/or Excel.

Chairman’s Letter Committee

Reviews and solicit articles that promotes and educates local community about the goals and objectives of the organization.

Grants, Foundation and Corporate Solicitation Committee

Research, review potential grants, writes and fulfill requirements in each grant application, collaborate with other experienced grant writers on committee.

Publicity Committee

Helps develop and implement a public relations plan that will better market and promote the mission and goals of the Library. Write and issue regular media releases concerning upcoming events, interesting personalities and club activities and achievements. Arrange the preparation and publication of newsletters and other materials. (Skills needed, IT, Social Media and local support)

Capital Campaign Committee

Develop and manage campaign prospect lists, including research and tracking of potential projects. Plan and implement cultivation and recognition events. Collaborate with staff to develop capital campaign print, web, and social media communications materials.

Events Committee

Helps plan, market, and evaluate the production of promotional events within targeted deadlines. Works with other committees to identify their needs and ensure participation. Be actively involved in organizing facilities and details such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.

Volunteer Committee

Keeps list up-to-date ensuring key people are active in all positions – contact volunteers regularly. Works closely with other committees ensuring they are aware of changes to list; ask them for volunteer needs.

Fund Raising and Special Projects

Work with the various staff members, Board and committee members to plan and execute fundraising and special events to monitor progress with organization mission and goals.

Administrative Functions Committee

Assistant with a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. Answering telephones, stuffing envelopes, posting flyers, etc. Works with the Foundation Administrative Assistant.

Library Volunteer

The ESPL library relies on volunteers to keep the library(s) running smoothly and to help with programs and special projects. Volunteer tasks may include helping with children and adult programs; re-shelving books; gathering items patrons requested; making sure materials are in the right place and shelves are neat; preparing materials for circulation.
